    The Rising Sun Tavern
The Rising Sun Tavern began as a residence, but in the late 18th century evolved into a tavern. This was a high-class establishment, with very little rowdiness. Tours are offered and are led by a barmaid, and these run continuously throughout the day.

    Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop
Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop was where the doctor of the same name operated his business from 1761 to 76. Mercer was a friend of George Washington, and he served as a brigadier-general during the Revolutionary War. It was during the Battle of Princeton that Mercer met his demise. His Apothecary Shop is a popular attraction. Costumed tour guides explain to visitors the ins and outs of his work, including the grisly details behind his treatments. Particularily, since opium - the only known anesthesia at the time - was expensive, patients in the waiting room were often asked to hold down others who were recieving treatments such as tooth extractions and boil removal. Tours run 45 minutes in length.
